If you tend to wear a cap, bobble hat or any kind of headgear to protect you from the harsh and cold days of winter, then you’ll know how great it is to be able to discard it as spring sunshine eventually warms the world. Down here in Bournemouth and right across Dorset this can happen slightly earlier than elsewhere, but the season eventually changes everywhere for the better. Here at Car-Link, one of our team recently said that this hat-removal was like being able to enjoy a convertible to its full effect. It’s also true that the hat should still be kept close by for spring showers, and your car can also quickly revert to enclosed mode if necessary!
The convertible comment arose because we were looking at the terrific range of these vehicles we currently have here at our Car-Link showroom on Christchurch Road. These range from the modern to the vintage, the stylish and sleek to the slightly racy (who said that this was just like our own team).
For example, there’s the stunning 1959 registration Triumph TR3A with just 5,000 miles on the clock (find out its amazing story in our recent blog “A stunning classic car – almost as remarkable as the lady who owned it”). Add to this an Audi TTTFSI S Line in stunning Missano Red and an Atomic Silver Lexus SC 430. You may just fall in love with the 2009 VW Beetle Luna 8V. It would certainly make those spring outings a fun event, as would the Mini Convertible Cooper.
We were having a discussion over where we’d most like that first top-down journey of the year to be. The final decision was a trip across the South Downs to Godalming on the A283 and A27 – a combination of rural charm, coastal views, and spring blossom. Now, where would we stop for lunch or tea? Once you’ve had the pleasure of selecting your premium used convertible from our ever-moving choice, these are the kind of relaxed decisions that surely add to your motoring pleasure!
