Some of you may be fans of the legendary Gumball 3000 and this year’s route for the grid of 100 supercars sees a start in Stockholm, and then on through Oslo, Copenhagen, Hamburg and Amsterdam. That would be enough for most. These intrepid souls have a couple of other small trips before they’re finished. The first is a quick plane hop from Amsterdam to – well – San Francisco! A nice country drive completes the rally – on through Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Bet all the participants will be tired by then!
Of course, here in Bournemouth, we do have our own great motoring event. The Bournemouth Wheels Festival runs from 29-31st May and features so much great stuff, including Desert Driving & Military Arenas, Classic Vehicle Pageant, Monster Truck Rides, Freestyle Motocross – and much more. You'll find full details - just search Bournemouth Wheels 2015 on Google, so do go down and enjoy this terrific event if you can.
Back to Gumball. The team here at Car-Link, providers of so many great used sports and performance cars in Bournemouth and across the south, were idly wondering which of our great current choices might enjoy the Gumball challenge. Perhaps the stunning black 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia DCT (just eleven thousand miles on the clock) would have fun. Maybe the BMW Z4 SDrive35I Roadster would acquit itself well. Then there’s a Mercedes SLK350 7G-Tronic and a 1981 Mercedes 280SL would certainly draw spectators’ attention. Sorry, it’s just been sold so we better not think about entering it! Maybe the Nissan 350Z V6 Roadster GT could well put some of its heftier rivals to shame!
To see these and more of the sports cars we offer here at Car-Link in Bournemouth, just click here. It did strike us while enjoying compiling this list that, although the Gumball 3000 may strictly be about awesome ‘supercars’, here in sunny Dorset, we’re content just to offer you truly super cars!
